In preparation for our upcoming Author’s Luncheon, Book Club will discuss Judith Freeman’s books this Thursday. Everyone is welcome, even if you haven’t read her books. Feel free to bring a beverage and/or nibbles to share.

Author Judith Freeman of Fairfield, Idaho and Los Angeles is a beautiful crafter of words, a fierce thinker and critic, and a keen observer of the human condition. She has received accolades for all her books: five novels, a memoir, a collection of short stories, and a non-fiction book about Raymond Chandler. We can’t wait to hear her speak and read at the Twelfth Annual Stanley Library Author’s Luncheon on September 10, and we hope you will join us!

The Stanley Supper Club will serve a delicious selection of Mediterranean-style kebabs, flatbread, salads, and dessert. Tickets are $35 and must be purchased in advance at the library (or by phone, 208-774-2470, or email).

In an interview with the Los Angeles Review of Books, Judith said: “The artist and writer exist to chronicle a moment in time, to afford the sense of beauty and wonder that allows hope, and to call us to account for our moral and ethical shortcomings.”

We appreciate Stanley Town Square for sponsoring the luncheon.
